RK GreenCrest is an ongoing residential high-rise and commercial development located in Rajkot, Gujarat, envisioned by Ishwar Gehi Architects. Envisioned as Gujarat’s first large-scale biomimicry architecture project, bringing nature-inspired design to a new urban scale.
The project explores a contemporary approach to biomimicry architecture, drawing inspiration from the organic structure of trees, branches, leaves and patterns found in nature.
A detailed study of natural forms, their patterns and proportions informed the development of the building’s distinctive façade. Rather than directly replicating nature, these observations were abstracted and translated into the architectural language of the building, resulting in a distinctive tree-inspired façade that gives the development a strong visual identity.
The tree-inspired façade forms the central architectural expression of the project, introducing an organic character into the urban skyline of Rajkot. The interplay of structural elements, geometry and integrated greenery creates a visual connection with natural systems while responding to the scale of the high-rise form.
The principles of biophilic design further extend into the planning of the development, where landscape and greenery are considered as integral components of the architectural environment.
The project seeks to establish a stronger relationship between the built form and its natural surroundings, creating a more balanced setting within a dense urban context.
RK GreenCrest, an upcoming architectural landmark for Rajkot comprises spacious 4 BHK and 5 BHK residences, with the planning focused on openness, natural light and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Large windows, personal balconies and views towards greenery contribute to a more open residential experience, while the free-flowing planning allows spaces to feel more expansive and connected by also taking care of the practical requirements of contemporary Indian lifestyles and improving everyday functionality.
